Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Future

The 2018 Ephrata Fair will offer some special activities and enhancements that you won’t want to miss! Come celebrate the Fair’s momentous milestone of bringing family fun to community members and visitors for the past 100 years.

Below is a list of what is new and exciting this year:

Welcome Home Ceremony

American flag waving in windWhen: Sunday, September 23 at 2 p.m.

Where: Due to rain, this event will be held at the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company Banquet Hall

Back in 1919, the Ephrata community arranged a grand welcome for the local young patriots who were returning home from World War I. One hundred years later, on September 23, 2018, we will pay tribute to our brave heroes past and present in a Welcome Home Ceremony. Highlights of the ceremony include a keynote speech by General Tom Hobbins, a historical account of the 1919 event by author Larry Alexander, a wreath-laying with the Red Rose Honor Guard, and bagpipe music.

2018 Parade

*An important update from the Fair Board and Parade Committee*

The Ephrata Farmers Day Association, commonly known as the Ephrata Fair, has decided to cancel the Ephrata Fair Parade scheduled for Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

The safety of the participants and the spectators is the primary concern of The Fair Association, the Parade Committee, the Fair Safety Committee and Ephrata Emergency Management.

The strong possibility exists for severe thunderstorms with strong winds, dangerous lightning, and heavy downpours on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The difficult decision to cancel the parade was made with concerns for personal safety. Other events for the week remain scheduled; we hope to see you at Tent City and on the Midway.

Kiddies Day 100th Fun

Thursday, September 27 children can get free stickers and a special Ephrata Fair coloring book.
