The 2018 Ephrata Fair will offer some special activities and enhancements that you won’t want to miss! Come celebrate the Fair’s momentous milestone of bringing family fun to community members and visitors for the past 100 years.
Below is a list of what is new and exciting this year:
Where: Winters Leadership Memorial at Veterans Plaza, 29 E. Fulton St.
(Rain location: Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company Banquet Hall)
Back in 1919, the Ephrata community arranged a grand welcome for the local young patriots who were returning home from World War I. One hundred years later, on September 23, 2018, we will pay tribute to our brave heroes past and present in a Welcome Home Ceremony. Highlights of the ceremony include a keynote speech by General Tom Hobbins, a historical account of the 1919 event by author Larry Alexander, a wreath-laying with the Red Rose Honor Guard, and bagpipe music.
When: Tuesday, September 25 at 4 p.m.
Where: Grater Memorial Park, Tent City and park amphitheater
Opening night will bring a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate 100 years of the Ephrata Fair!
After you’ve explored the fun on the Midway uptown, come on down to Grater Memorial Park for an evening you won’t forget.
You’ll find fun for the entire family, including free ice cream samples from Turkey Hill, face painting, petting zoo, and a zany new game on the lower baseball diamond at 6 p.m.
The evening’s official program begins at 6:30 pm at the park amphitheater. It will feature WIOV radio personality Casey Allyn as the emcee, a rockin’ laser light show set to music by southern rock band Mountain Road and the creation of a time capsule.
